Work it

Brrrr. Just because it's winter doesn't mean I have to stop working out! We are off in one month for a tropical vacay and I need to make sure I don't forget to work out just because its so cold! Here are a few of my favorite items to use for winter workouts. I started buying a few more things, including this amazing bag to bring with me when I go to spin. This song has really got me going lately on long runs and it will be great when the results pay off! What are some of your favorite cold weather workout gear?

My Favorite Things Week!

I love when people post their favorite things. It makes me start to shop! So I wanted to share a few of my favorite things this week as winter starts to pour in. What are your favorite things this week?

Baby Jogger Hand Muff
So great for warming hands while pushing your stroller, without having to take gloves on and off

Kind Bars
Delish. I always eat one after a run or after a spin class. My favorite lately is Dark chocolate with nuts and seal salt. Yum.

L'Oreal Shampoo
This shampoo has been amazing for my hair this winter. And its only $3.99. That beats my normal $30 shampoo that I get from the hair salon!

Map My Run

This is a really great app I downloaded on my iPhone. And its free! It helps track my miles and my calories. It also alerts me through my headphones when I have reached every mile. So during the longer runs I don't have to keep looking at my phone, I can just go!

Old Navy Cozy Socks

Ahhh. These are amazing. They are warm and come in fun colors. I have a ton of pairs and love to slip them on around the house.

Happy 33 to me!

This weekend we celebrated my 23rd 33rd birthday! Ever since my 30th, I decided no more big parties, nothing crazy, just a lot of ME time and family time too. The night before we went out to dinner here. The day of I had an amazing spa at Elizabeth Arden, brunch at Serafina, a manicure and a blow out. All in order to get ready for a wedding of two people I introduced years ago. Its amazing to actually know both the bride and groom and feel responsible for them falling in love. The groom introduced me to his whole family as the girl who set them up and the birthday girl! I wore this amazing dress, my favorite shoes and bag and a gorgeous necklace. The next day we had brunch with my in laws (it was my mother in law's birthday the next day!) at The Inn at Pound Ridge, delish! I wore my favorite AG jeans, another great necklace and my new birthday Gucci ballet flats!

Happy birthday to me!

It's All In the Details....

I thought I would take the time to post a little bit about me...... the real me! Not the mommy me, event planner me, wife me, homemaker me, just me.....

Here are 5 things you may or may not know, please sure 5 with me!

1. I am super old fashioned. I still write checks, mail letters and prefer paper invites not e-ones. I rent books from the library, keep all my birthday cards people gave me and write in diaries and planners!

2. I return a lot ! It takes me forever to settle on a purchase (especially a big ticket one) so I usually buy, return, buy again, try on and return again until I can reach happy shopping nirvana and keep it.

3. I make lists. LOTS OF LISTS. I have one next to my desk at all times. If I don't write things down sometimes I forget, everything.

4. I get pretty obsessive. Once I like something I usually obsess about it and then repeat often. I am still eating my favorite snacks daily, spinning to my favorite Soul Cycle teachers, buying my favorite clothing items when they wear and repeating my favorite songs when I run over and over again! (Ask my husband, all I do is obsess)

5. I get very nervous about losing things. Whether its people, items of mine, my baby boy, my phone and especially photos. I am crazy about my photos. I save them on discs, USBs, external drives, shutterfly and I print them and put them in photo books. You can't be too careful if your computer crashes!

Pinterest to Table

This seems to be the theme for all of my sunday night dinners. Pinterest to table. Tonight I decided to make the Grilled Caprese Chicken Recipe. I didn't use a grill, since we city folk :) So I did them stove top and then cooked an array of veggies on the side. Baby enjoyed it to along with some cut up cantaloupe and blueberries for dessert. I opened my new favorite drink MYX Moscato. This time I had the coconut one. YUM :)

Ingredients:
  • Boneless Skinless Chicken Breasts

  • Medium Tomato (sliced)
  • Mozzarella Cheese (sliced)
  • Basil leaves
  • Balsamic Vinegar
  • Pam (Olive Oil No-Stick Cooking Spray)

1. Cook chicken in pan
2. Once cooked place on top sliced tomatoes and mozzarella
3. Drizzle balsamic vinegar over them
4. Serve!

Whats in your grocery cart?

Everyone asks me what do you feed your child? And I have to say it changes every week. He is pretty picky. He also loves something one minute and hates it the next. I should know, it becomes apparent when it is allover our floor! So this morning while dad was watching baby I went grocery shopping. We were away last week and had NOTHING in the fridge. Here are a few things I picked up. What do you buy for your kiddies?

Pictured (on top)

Chobani yogurts (small ones for baby and flips for mommy)
Go Go Squeez (His favorite applesauce in cherry and peach)
Canned corn and canned carrots
Grilled salmon
Frozen veggie mix

Tell it to my ankle….

I've been searching high & low for the perfect ankle strap sandal. I tried the wedge thing (didn't work), tried my normal flats (still love em) but wanted something else this summer. I found three really great ankle strap sandals in all different price ranges. (If you call now you can get the first one for under $100!). I still can't decide which one is for me or for my ankle :)
