I love the Coco Loco, Tropical, Banana Nutty and Peachy Pistachio

I love the mint with chocolate chips

Weekend Getaway

Sometime you just need to get away. Hubby and I decided to get away for a night and have some "us" time. So we dropped off baby with Grandma and headed out to CT. We stopped at a great vineyard and had a wine tasting and artisan cheese plate. DELISH. We then made it to the outlets and did a little thrifty shopping. We ended our tour at Mohegan sun, where we walked around, ate oysters and lobsters, drank bloody marys and gambled at the craps and roulette tables! We enjoyed a sleep filled night and morning and then ended with a luxurious buffet breakfast. What a great little trip away!

First of many Firsts...

So my little hunnie is getting a tooth!! During the night, he has been taking it well. He still sleeps from 7:00 - 7:00. But during the day, he is not a happy camper. His naps are shorter, he eats less, wants to be held more and fusses the most! Doc says it may take weeks for this pearly white to break through. Is it too much to ask the tooth fairy to let it happen over night and very soon?! If I put a dollar under my pillow maybe then?

Websurfing

Nap time allots for a LOT of websurfing :) Here are some sites I have been checking out that I think are cool and new and definitely worth the click

Just like the popular one for us and beauty samples, this one has samples for your doggy. Clever!

Picstitch
I am always trying to find an app that lets me make collages of my photos, perfect!

You can turn actual photos of yours, either uploaded or through instagram into CHOCOLATE bars. How cool

Birthday Fun Day

Tomorrow is my 32nd birthday - jeez :) This year instead of gifts, I decided I wanted a day of special things. Things that I do not normally have time for with baby. So hubs has given me the day off and has graciously paid for all my activities and a bunch of time in between to snuggle with my little one.

Here is a little how my day will go!

Morning ride at Soul Cycle

Noon massage at Bliss

Afternoon blow dry at Blow Dry Bar

Dinner & Drinks at ABC Kitchen

What would your perfect fun activity day be?

Quick Mommy Recipe # 1

Before baby, I cooked every Sunday night for hubs and I. But since baby, I have been slacking. Sure I cook the occasional easy chicken with brown rice and veggies, or even light penne vodka with turkey sausage and sometimes fajitas. But I thought I should try to do a little more. So the other night I made short ribs and they came out AMAZING and gave me enough time to be with baby too and cook for him!

Short Rib Recipe for Busy Moms

4 Bone in short ribs (Came out to $22 at Fairway)
A vidalia Onion (Halved. One half chopped and the other half set aside)
A container of BBQ sauce (I use Sweet baby rays Hickory and Brown Sugar)
Salt

1. Take other half of onion, pam a baking sheet and place onion on it.
2. Set oven to350 degrees
3. Put ribs in greased pyrex, season with salt, cover with chopped onions and slather with sauce
4. Bake for 2.5 hours with tinfoil on top
5. Last 30 minutes, take off foil and put onion on baking sheet in
6. Voila! You have falling off the bone short ribs for you guys and a baked onion for baby

Plus, the time in the oven, gave me time for nap, snack, and playtime

ENJOY :)

Latest Baby Update

Baby boy is 8.5 months now and so much has been going on. He started army crawling at 6 months, then real crawling at 7 and now he is standing up all over the place. He is eating more adventurous foods, he is developing his own personality and he is starting to remember people. He amazes me every day. I am so happy I have the luxury of staying home with him. Hard work, but best rewards.

Summer Reads

Ever since baby boy was born, I have not had the patience or attention span to read. This summer now that he is a bit older, I have gotten back into it. I read a few books while taking an hour to myself during naps and during a few family vacays we had.

Here are some of my favorites from this summer

Bond Girl - Erin Duffy
Young girl gets a job on wall street and learns that reality of how unglamorous a job like this can be.

Gone Girl - Gillian Flynn
Murder mystery about a husband and wife, riveting once you hit the 200s! Still have 60 more pages to go!

Revenge Wears Prada - Lauren Weisberger
Sequel of Devil Wears Prada, but not as good. Andy is now partnered with Emily in their own magazine venture and Miranda wants to buy it. Couple in with the fact that Andy is pregnant with a billionaire's baby. Just didn't have the ending I was hoping for.

Where we belong - Emily Giffin
Young girl finds her biological mother and then wants to find her real dad, who never knew about her. Cute, but again, ending left me like REALLY?

What did you read this summer?

3.1 Phillip Lim for Target

I have always been one to bargain shop. When I see a sale or a promotion I am on it. Then again, those who know me, know I like the finer things as well. I treasure my luxury items and keep them in original paper and boxes, stored and preserved until use. Did I mention I was a bit OCD?

One of my favorite designers debuted his line on Target this morning. By 8:00am, half of the good things were sold out! I managed to snag a few key items, use my target card for free shipping and an extra 5% off and voila! In a few days, I can be wearing my favorite items for less! Who says you can't be a mom on a budget and look trendy too?

Sparkle Dress $49.99

Medium Satchel $44.99

Sparkle Sweater $39.99

What will you pick up at target before they are all gone?!
